Many visitors to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor don’t realize there is another part of Acadia, the most remote part, six miles from the mainland on the beautiful island of Isle au Haut, accessible only by our ferry service.
Isle au Haut offers 18 miles of trails, ranging from forest paths to rocky coastal routes. Highlights include:
Interior trails through forests, bogs, and marshes to mountain summits and a freshwater lake
Coastal trails along 100-foot cliffs overlooking the sea
Opportunities for wildlife viewing, photography, and quiet reflection
