Maine Open Lighthouse Day
Celebrate Maine Open Lighthouse Day with Isle au Haut Boat Services. Sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard, the State of Maine, and the American Lighthouse Foundation, this annual event offers visitors the chance to see and photograph some of Maine’s most iconic historic lighthouses.
Midcoast Maine is home to beautiful and historic lights, and for Lighthouse Weekend 2026, we’re offering a two-day lighthouse cruise featuring ten lighthouses aboard our fully U.S. Coast Guard licensed 46-foot passenger vessel. Cruises last approximately 4–5 hours each day.
Saturday, September 12, 2026 - Western Penobscot Bay Lighthouse Cruise
Departure: 11:00 AM from Stonington Wharf
On Saturday, we explore western Penobscot Bay and the Fox Islands Thorofare. Lighthouses viewed include:
Mark Island Light
Goose Rocks Light
Brown’s Head Light (Vinalhaven)
Heron Neck Light
Saddleback Ledge Light (weather permitting)
Isle au Haut Light (Robinson’s Point)
The cruise passes picturesque North Haven Village and travels down the west side of Vinalhaven Island.
Note: There are no shore visits on Saturday.
Sunday, September 13, 2026 – Downeast Lighthouse Cruise
Departure: 11:00 AM from Stonington Wharf
On Sunday, the Downeast cruise travels east of Stonington, showcasing:
Hockamock Head Light (Swan’s Island)
Great Duck Island Light
Bass Harbor Head Light
Blue Hill Bay Light (Eggemoggin Lighthouse)
Note: There are no shore visits on Sunday.

Saturday Cruise – $80 per adult; $45 per child under 12
Sunday Cruise – $80 per adult; $45 per child under 12
Weekend Package: Both cruises — $125 per adult; $85 per child
Departure & Boarding
Tours leave promptly at 11 am each day. Please arrive 30-45 minutes before departure for parking and check-in.
Length, Weather & Safety
Tours are approximately 4-4.5 hours. The routes are weather dependent and at the Captain’s discretion. If canceled due to unsafe conditions, guests may reschedule or receive a full refund (less $5/ticket processing fee). Advance purchase is required to secure reservations.

You may receive a full refund (less $5/ticket processing fee) if you cancel 4 days or more before the cruise date.
